Photography is a way of capturing memories

My name is Jet van Och-van Hout, and I live in Best, the Netherlands. Through this website, I'm excited to share some of my cherished memories with you. Traveling is my passion, and photography is a beloved hobby. Nature and culture are where I draw my inspiration from. For me, the act of creating memories is paramount, and it outweighs the technical perfection of my photographs.

My heart is drawn to Africa and its wildlife, with Kenya holding a special place in my affections. The quote by Ernest Hemingway, "I never knew of a morning in Africa when I woke that I was not happy," resonates deeply with me. The experience of awakening to the symphony of nature and the spectacle of a radiant African sunrise is incomparable. Just the thought of it fills me with warmth and joy.

The vibrant colors and rich culture of Central America captivate me, as does the ambiance of European cities. In the Netherlands, the allure of the Dutch coast and the enigmatic realm of macro photography hold my fascination.

Within my gallery, you'll discover a collection of photographs (presented in a small format) capturing the places I've journeyed to and the magnificent world that surrounds us. Each photo is a personal capture and is not available for use without permission. Should you have any inquiries or interest in obtaining a copy of a photo, please reach out to me at info@jetvanoch.nl for further details.

My life with Neuroendocrine (NET)cancer

In December 2004 I was diagnosed with NETcancer. The symbol of this rare form of cancer is the zebra🦓. Below some stories of my battle with NETcancer (in Dutch)
In 2016 I was interviewed by the Dutch NET-group for a brochure about NET
In 2020 I wrote an update on this story
In 2024 another update, I'm still struggling and still hanging in ....

More information about NET can be found
on the website of the Dutch NET/NEC Patient Organisation and on the website of the International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance (INCA)

The result of 20 years 'Champagne Moments'

For me our "Champagne Moment" 🍾🥂 is another cork for my collection and a very important custom. From the beginning, in 2004, my husband and I have made it a habit to 'celebrate life' with a bottle of champagne after every visit to the doctor or hospital. This is the result so far, we hope for many more!
